Kevin Yip

Mr. Yip has more than 26 years of private equity and portfolio investment experience in Greater China and the Asia Pacific region. 

Mr. Yip is currently a Board member of China F&B Group.

He is a Managing Director at General Oriental Investments (HK) Limited.  GOL manages a globally diversified portfolio of assets for a single European family office.  He is a member of GOL’s investment committee and is a board member of the investment holding company.   Concurrently he is Vice Chairperson International of NewMargin Group, a mid-market growth private equity firm in China.  With six offices and over 60 professionals, NewMargin is one of the leaders in its segment and has been ranked #2 within its peer group by Forbes China.  

He was previously Managing Director and Responsible Officer of Bosera Asset Management in Hong Kong.  Bosera is one of the largest asset management companies in the PRC, with approximately RMB 300 billion under management. It has been appointed to manage funds for the National Council for Social Security Fund (NCSSF) and is also one of the largest managers of corporate pension fund assets in China.  Prior to that, he was CEO of Sun Partners Investment Management Limited.  The Sun China Fund was nominated by AsiaHedge for the Best New Fund of the Year Award for 2007. 

Prior to that, he was a Founding and Senior Partner of GEMS, a private equity management company, and was a member of the firm’s Investment Committee.  He was previously a Vice President of J.P. Morgan International Capital Corporation. 

Mr. Yip was included in Asia FM’s 2011 inaugural list of Asia’s Power 50, the investment management industry’s most influential individuals in Asia.  He received his A.B. degree, magna cum laude, from Harvard University.  He has served as a board director of a number of private and publicly listed companies in China, Hong Kong, Singapore and elsewhere in Asia.  He is Chairperson Emeritus of the Hong Kong Venture Capital and Private Equity Association, and sits on the Institutional Review Board of the HK Hospital Authority.  He has served on the Financial Services Advisory Committee of the Trade Development Council of the Hong Kong SAR and the Expert Steering Committee of the China Venture Capital Research Institute.  He is also a member of the Board of Trustees of Milton Academy, Massachusetts, USA.
